Resistance to containment

Revolution, classified as terrorism, deserved both labels.

The Unnatural Front is a revolutionary movement. Its members range from those seeking genuine political freedom for the oppressed unnatural to those seeking to restore unnatural dominion over human society. The Authority classifies it as a terrorist organization. Many unnatural see it as the only legitimate resistance to an unjust system. Both assessments have merit.

What it wants

There is no single Front platform. Different cells, different cadres, different theorists. What they share is the conviction that the containment regime is unjust, that the unnatural have a right to political existence the Authority will never grant them, and that ordinary politics has run its course as a vehicle for change.

What divides them is what comes next. Some factions want a constitutional settlement: legal recognition, civil rights, an end to extralegal containment. Others want what the old order had. The same banner covers both.

What it does

The Front operates as a network of semi-autonomous cells. Their public-facing work is propaganda, mutual aid, and political organizing inside unnatural communities. Their covert work is theft of contained artifacts, attacks on Authority facilities, and — at the more extreme end of the movement — the selective killing of containment officers and collaborators.

The Authority pursues the Front as a terrorist organization. The Front's own definition of itself is more contested.

The register

The Front exists because no other avenue does. The containment system causes real suffering. The Front's grievances are not invented. The Front also shelters factions whose stated goal is the restoration of unnatural dominion — the same regime whose memory animates the Authority's mandate.

Both sides of the conflict can be played sympathetically. Neither side gets to be simply right.
